Geosyntec’s innovation helps our clients create alternate revenue streams from landfill gas by converting it to compressed natural gas as a transportation fuel, fuel for on-site generators, or conditioning for direct use in a landfill gas to energy system.

Geosyntec landfill gas expertise made the Seminole Road Landfill LFGTE project the first supplier of electricity from a renewable source to Georgia Power's retail and commercial customers through Georgia's voluntary Green Energy program.

Landfill Gas Services for Waste Disposal Facilities: Technology in Practice

Geosyntec works closely with landfill owners, operators, and contractors in all landfill gas related compliance issues. We have successfully obtained permits for landfill gas flares and LFGTE facilities, including in severe nonattainment areas. We develop strategies that allow our clients to manage their air emission portfolios and plan future projects to be compliant with air regulations. We have excellent technical relationships with state and federal regulators throughout the country. We are recognized in the industry for our technology leadership.

We have provided these reliable services at over 70 landfills throughout the U.S. Our expertise with landfill gas management services enables our clients to achieve safe, secure containment of regulated wastes. Geosyntec is also a dynamic and influential member of the international community of solid waste industry practitioners focused on furthering the science and technology of sound landfill gas management.

Concept to Completion: Complete Lifecycle Waste Disposal Facility Services

A significant component of Geosyntec’s landfill engineering practice is the management of landfill gas and compliance with air quality standards. Our expertise with landfill gas management services is built upon our legacy of being a recognized leader in helping our clients achieve safe, secure containment of regulated wastes since our founding in 1983.

We are a longstanding member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) whose objective is to work in the public interest to promote and develop sustainable and professional waste management practices worldwide. Within the U.S., Geosyntec is heavily involved at local and national levels with the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), providing speakers to conferences and serving on national committees for the Landfill Management and Landfill Gas Technical Divisions. We are a partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA) Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP), a voluntary assistance and partnership program that promotes the use of landfill gas as a renewable, green energy source.
